TACTICAL POLICE DRIVING INSTRUCTOR LEVEL COURSE
The instructor level course is an eight day (64 HR) program designed to teach trainees to instruct the 24 hour "student level" course to their own personnel. Teaching experience is highly recommended, but not required. Trainees will learn how to run, coach, and lay out all driving activities.
In order to gain instructor certification, trainees must pass all student level qualifications and demonstrate satisfactory teaching skills in the classroom and on the track. Additionally, trainees are required to have a passing final average on daily exams.
Tuition for the Tactical Police Driving Instructor Course is $1,850.00 per person.
TACTICAL POLICE DRIVING INSTRUCTOR RECERTIFICATION
NAPD Instructor recertification (one or two day session) is required at three-year intervals. Recertification involves instructing updates as well as requalification on all driving exercises.
Tuition for the Instructor Recertification Course is $300.00 per person.
LAW ENFORCEMENT SUV DRIVING INSTRUCTOR LEVEL COURSE
The SUV Driving Instructor Course is a five day (40 HR) program designed to train the trainer to instruct a two day (16 HR) student level course to department personnel (see SUV student level). Teaching experience is highly recommended but not required.
Certification requires passing all student level qualifications, as well as satisfactorily demonstrating classroom and track teaching skills. Instructor trainees must also have a passing final average on written tests.
Tuition for the Law Enforcement SUV Driving Instructor Course is $1,150.00 per person.
Currently certified NAPD Tactical Police Driving Instructors may attend a three day (24 HR) cross-trainer to gain SUV Instructor certification.
Tuition for the Law Enforcement SUV Driving Instructor Cross-train Course is $650.00 per person.
SUV INSTRUCTOR RECERTIFICATION
